"Rose c'est Paris" by Bettina Rheims and Serge Bramly, is both a photographic monograph and a feature film on DVD. This extraordinary work of art, offered in two different but intertwined and complementary formats, defies categorization. For in this opus imbued with a multi-faceted poetic symbolism, photographer Bettina Rheims and writer Serge Bramly evoke the City of Light in a totally new way: it is a Paris where surrealist visions, confused identities, artistic ghosts, unheard of manipulations, obsession, fetishism and burning desire cohabit.

A fair mix of fashion photography, art monograph, metaphysical mystery and social and cultural archaeology of the French capital, a neo-noir art film and essay, "Rose c'est Paris" tells the torrid story of two twin sisters named B and Rose and a third character - the city itself. An abduction and a plot takes us through the streets, cafes, cabarets, museums, abandoned factories and grand hotels of Paris. What happened to the missing sister? Is there a plot? Was she really kidnapped? Is she still alive? Did she even exist outside of her fantasies? Rheims and Bramly create a series of extraordinary paintings that suggest all these possibilities, and more, with the help of celebrities including Naomi Campbell, Michelle Yeoh, Monica Bellucci, Charlotte Rampling, Valérie Lemercier, Inès Sastre, Anna Mouglalis, Audrey Marnay, Anthony Delon, Rona Hartner, Jean-Pierre Kalfon, Azzedine Alaïa, Louise Bourgoin and Hélèna Noguerra.
